What we expect from you

As our every day sessions have an emphasis on playing outdoors in all weathers, we know that you will be supporting us and actively supporting your children by helping us provide what they need for the day.

We will require you to make sure that whatever the weather, your children are dressed appropriately. e.g.

  • Welly boots, waterproofs, rain jackets for wet weather.
  • Winter coats, gloves, wooly hats and snow boots for winter.
  • Sun hats, sunscreen, light clothing for summer.

Please also include an extra change of clothes in your child’s bag as this is essential for outdoor play and ensure all your children’s clothing has their names sewn into them.

If your child is not toilet trained, please pack at least 2 nappies and some wipes into your child’s bag when you drop them off for a play session. Our staff will change your child’s nappy when needed.

Please pack a lunch box for your child for every session. We will place your child’s food in the fridge if it is required, but please label all your child’s food and drinks.

Some type of food can be a choking hazard so please chop up grapes, berries and any other food that is large into manageable pieces.

Due to health and safety procedures, please refrain from packing food that could cause serious allergic reactions in others e.g. peanuts and shell fish.

We also ask that you do not pack any chocolate or sweeties in your child’s lunch box. If there is any food we deem unsuitable it will be removed and returned to you at the end of the day.

At Home

After school when your children come home, we suggest helping your child process the day by talking to them about their experiences and in letting them show you where they have been and what they have been doing whilst at Pre-School/Forest School.
